During pregnancy particularly in the later stages it is difficult to find a comfortable and relaxing treatment suitable and safe for you to enjoy. Reiki is often used by mums-to-be as a way of relaxing, bonding with their child and treating many of the symptoms of pregnancy. Treatments can begin at any stage of pregnancy, or even whilst you are still trying to conceive.
Usually mums-to-be have a regular course of treatments, for example once a month, right up until they give birth, and many continue after their baby is born.
You are free to choose how many treatments you have and when you have them, we offer single treatments and courses of treatments at a discount.

Reiki treatments are still a wonderful choice for those lucky enough to enjoy a happy and healthy pregnancy, simply to enjoy a relaxing treat and to help you and your baby to be calm, balanced and healthy.
Mums have also found that their labour can be a calm, stress free, happy event with Reiki.
For those that have continued to have treatments after the birth of their Reiki baby, many comment that it has helped them to adapt to their new lifestyle calmly and to easily establish a relaxed routine with their baby.

Reiki is a gentle touch therapy which includes deep relaxation and promotes healing.
The treatment lasts up to 1 hour 15 minutes. You begin by lying fully clothed on your back and the therapist holds their hands on or above the energy centres in your body. Each position is held for around 3 minutes. You may feel sensations of warmth, tingling or cold. The therapist works steadily down the body from the head to the feet.
Once the treatment is complete you will be left alone to relax (many clients sleep during Reiki) and afterwards you may enjoy some refreshment in a relaxing environment.
You may have Reiki treatments as often as you wish, as part of a course or as an individual 'one off' treatment. If you would like to try a shorter 30 minute treatment then please feel free to do so.
For the treatment of specific problems an initial course of 4 treatments, each a week apart, is recommended. After this treatments on a fortnightly or monthly basis would be advised.
For general wellbeing treatments on a monthly basis are recommended.
During pregnancy we recommend treatments on a monthly basis with additional rebalancing treatments should you feel the need for a top up.
